Get $10 Credit For Pre-Ordering These Games At Best Buy

Best Buy is running a new promotion that rewards you for pre-ordering some of the biggest games of the year. Right now, if you lock in your preorder for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, or Super Smash Bros., you'll receive a $10 reward certificate. The company says it will announce more games that qualify for the reward in the future.

The only hitch is you need to be a My Best Buy member to get the reward, but registering for that program is free (more information here). It's also worth noting that pre-ordering a game in a Best Buy store requires a $5 deposit, while pre-ordering online does not.

The deal also stacks with the Gamers Club Unlocked member discount of 20% off pre-orders and new game purchases. So, effectively, GCU members can get these games for $48 in addition to receiving the $10 credit. Not a bad deal for brand new games.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is scheduled to release on September 14, 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. We don't know much about it yet beyond a short teaser trailer, but Square Enix promises to reveal more on April 27.

This year's installment of Call of Duty continues the Black Ops sub-series, and is slated for release October 12, 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The development studio is Treyarch, the same studio that also worked on all previous Black Ops games. Activision says more information will arrive during the game's official reveal on May 17.

As for Super Smash Bros. on Nintendo Switch, we know very little. We don't know whether it's a port of the Wii U game or a full-blown sequel. The only thing we know about its release date is that it's coming this year. Last month, Nintendo released a Super Smash Bros. teaser that hinted Splatoon characters would be joining the fray.

Regardless of how little we know about these games at this point, if you're planning to pre-order any of them, you might want to do it at Best Buy to get that $10 reward certificate.
