Free Steam Weekend Begins For Three Games

Hope you're not doing much this weekend, PC gamers. Three noteworthy games are doing the free-to-play weekend thing on Steam. Better yet, they're also on sale, so you can try them for free and then buy them for cheap if you want more time with them. Not a bad deal.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands is free to play on Steam--as well as PS4 and Xbox One--between April 12 - 15. The promotion coincides with Wildlands's first big Year 2 update. It's called Special Operation I, and it features a mission with Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher. The game is also 67% off ($20/£16)on Steam through April 18.

And if you'd like to dive into a massive open-world RPG, you can download a trial of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition on Steam (also available on Xbox One). It's free between now and April 15. This version of the game contains souped-up graphics, plus all the expansions released for the original. Also, Bethesda has cut the price in half on Steam ($20/£15) for anyone who wants to buy it.

Lastly, you can try Ballistic Overkill for free between now and April 15. It's an online shooter that has you pick a class, pick a gun, and start shooting your opponents. The game is also currently 50% off on Steam ($6/£5).

So start downloading, and enjoy a weekend of gaming that won't break the bank.
