One Of Kojima's Favorite Games Is Coming To Nintendo Switch Soon
Framed and Framed 2 are coming to Nintendo Switch in a compilation pack called the Framed Collection, Australian developer Loveshack Entertainment announced today. The pack is due out this spring, but a specific release date and price were not announced.
Originally released in 2014, Framed is a puzzle game where you rearrange panels of an animated comic book to change the events of the heist to (hopefully!) make it successful. The game was a critical darling, nominated for the IGF 2015's Excellence in Design award. Additionally, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima named Framed his 2014 Game of the Year.
Framed 2 was released in 2017. A prequel to the first game that made use of similar mechanics (and its excellent jazz music) while adding new mechanics and puzzles, it was widely praised as well. We named it one of our favorite mobile games of 2017. Framed and Framed 2 are only available on iOS and Android devices currently, so the Switch edition marks the first console port.
The Switch version lets you play with Joy-Cons or the touch screen, though no other details are available about what Switch-exclusive features or functionality there may be. The Framed Collection is also headed to PC (with Mac and Linux versions), but there is no word yet about an edition for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
