Play Rainbow Six Siege For Free Next Weekend On PS4, Xbox One, And PC

Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Siege, the excellent team-based tactical shooter, will be free to play next weekend as part of a limited-time event. Everyone on PS4, Xbox One, and PC can play completely free from February 15 through February 20.

If you decide to buy the game after the free play weekend wraps up, you might be happy to know that all of your progress will carry forward. Another nice thing is that Siege is currently marked down on all platforms, so you won't have to pay full price, either.

In other Siege news, the game's Year 3 Season 1 content, called Operation Chimera, will launch on PC starting on February 19 through the testing realm. It will later roll out to all players on all platforms on March 6. Additionally, the co-op mode Outbreak launches on Siege's test server on February 20 before coming to all systems for a limited time from March 6 through April 3.

Ubisoft will announce more details on Operation Chimera and the Outbreak mode will be shared during Siege's professional tournament later this month in Montreal. Also during this broadcast, Ubisoft will share more details on upcoming Operator characters.

Earlier this week, Ubisoft teased the new Operators coming to Siege and discussed some of what you can expect from the soon-to-launch Outbreak event.

According to Ubisoft, Siege has more than 25 million registered players, so, despite the game having launched back in December 2015, you should still be able to find people to play with.
