Three New Xbox One Backwards Compatible Games Now Available

Three more Xbox 360 games have joined Xbox One's backwards compatibility program. Critically acclaimed shooter Spec Ops: The Line, comic book-based shooter The Darkness II, and Xbox Live Arcade game The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom are all now available to play on Xbox One.

Spec Ops: The Line is a third-person military shooter set in Dubai. It's praised for its story, particularly for its exploration of morality, the horrors of war, and mental illness. Spec Ops originally released in 2012 and wasn't a commercial success, but it has since gained a dedicated following and is one of our favorite games about war.

The Darkness II is a first-person shooter based on The Darkness comic book series. It mixes traditional shooter mechanics and weapons with magic-like abilities. The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom, on the other hand, is an XBLA puzzle game and was originally a graduate student project at the University of Southern California.

If you own a physical disc for any of these games, you can just put them into your Xbox One to begin playing. Digital copies can be found in the Ready to Download area of the My Games and Apps section on the console, or you can buy the games directly through the Xbox Store. Meanwhile, check out the upcoming Xbox One and Xbox 360 free Games with Gold, arriving this February.
