Marvel's Runaways And Future Man Will Keep Hulu In The Superhero Business

Good news for fans of Marvel's Runaways: Ahead of its Season 1 finale, Hulu has renewed the series. The streaming service has also ordered another second season of Future Man, from producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

Runaways, based on a Marvel comic book of the same name, follows a group of teenagers who realize their parents are actual supervillains. The show's cast includes Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin, and Allegra Acosta as the teens. Among the adults--who make up the supervillain group known as Pride--are Ever Carradine and James Marsters.

Unlike many streaming shows, Runaways has been released on a weekly basis. As with Season 1, the next installment will consist of 13 episodes. The first season premiered in November, while a date for the new episodes has yet to be announced.

Future Man, likewise, has received a new 13-episode order for Season 1. The series, starring Josh Hutcherson, Eliza Coupe, and Derek Wilson, sends a janitor (Hutcherson) on a time-traveling and very vulgar adventure with two warriors from the future (Coupe and Wilson), based solely on his ability to do well in a video game.

The two shows join a handful of other Hulu series that have been previously renewed, including The Path, Casual, and The Handmaid's Tale--which is one of GameSpot's Top 10 TV shows of 2017.
