First Look At EA UFC 3's Career Mode Gameplay Showcases Its Overhauled Animation
EA Sports made notable strides in the last couple years by crafting robust and sometimes memorable campaigns, single-player modes that are arguably as appealing as the online components. Madden 18 and FIFA 18 featured strong narratives with pre-conceived protagonists, while NBA Live 18 allowed you the freedom to create you own story through your custom character. UFC 3's will follow suit with a mode where your personalized fighter will start from the bottom, train, and fight his way to the top. The ultimate goal? Be the greatest of all time, of course.
We recently had an extensive look at UFC 3's career mode and the vibe we're getting is that it's more refined and fleshed out than the last game's campaign. One of the most appealing aspects of this new mode is that there's no one set path to being the greatest. For instance, you have to pull off a number of fight-based career achievements, but not every one the game offers need to be completed. The same goes for how you promote yourself. In UFC 3, hype matters, and building it through social media is a huge part of your career. Whether you choose to tweet about a worthwhile sparring match or inviting fans to watch you stream a video game, you have to cultivate your brand in between fights.
The video montage above features some of the gameplay we recorded, which also shows off UFC 3's overhauled motion capture animation. It's a marked visual improvement over the last game, which had room for improvement.
UFC 3 is due out February 2, 2018 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
