Top 10 UK Games Chart: God Of War And Donkey Kong Lead The Best-Selling Games This Week

PlayStation 4 exclusive God of War finishes atop the UK physical sales chart for the fourth week in a row this week, with Nintendo's Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze remaining at No.2. The chart for the week ending May 12 sees little change across the board, as Far Cry 5 and FIFA 18 keep their respective No.3 and No.4 positions.

Only one new game entered the chart this week: Conan Exiles, now out of early access, launches in full at No.13. Elsewhere, Assassin's Creed Origins re-enters the top 10 at No.9, as does Destiny 2 at No.10.

The latter's new expansion, Warmind, debuted on May 8 and has been met with mixed reviews. In our Destiny 2: Warmind review, critic Kallie Plagge said the added content gives players renewed purpose to level up, think of new strategies, and obtain new loot. However, she said that "if you aren't already dedicated to reaching the level cap and completing every late-game activity, Warmind doesn't offer many draws for you."

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, meanwhile, is "a fantastic platformer," according to critic Peter Brown, who awarded the Switch version of the game a 9/10. "Tropical Freeze isn't a heavy-hitter from Nintendo in the same way Breath of the Wild or Super Mario Odyssey are, but it's a fantastic platformer that's bursting with creativity and expertly designed challenges," he wrote. "It's tuned just right--always tough but rarely frustrating--to ensure that even the most common moments feel great. If you missed out when the game first debuted back in 2014, give it a shot today.
